Description/About

The New Zealand Political Studies Association / Te Kāhui Tātai Tōrangapū o Aotearoa, or NZPSA, was founded in 1974 and is a collegial association of individuals. It exists to promote and encourage the study of politics involving not just academics, but also students and practitioners, journalists and pollsters. The NZPSA is a constituent member of the Royal Society of New Zealand Te Apārangi, and holds an annual conference that welcomes a range of disciplinary perspectives to the study of political phenomenon. The NZPSA has strong links with all the political studies departments and programmes in Aotearoa/New Zealand, has its own research magazine, Women Talking Politics, and has had a long affiliation with the journal Political Science. In addition to access to the annual conference, membership of the NZPSA provides members with connections to AusPSA, CPSA and UK PSA conferences, sometimes at discounted rates, eligibility to apply for a number of international & domestic awards and grants for scholars and postgraduates, a quarterly newsletter direct to your inbox, access to a range of research networks and caucuses.
